OnePlus finally launched its special Star Wars Limited Edition OnePlus 5T in India on Thursday at a price of Rs 38,999. The new OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition has a lot in similar to the original OnePlus 5T that was launched only last month. The Star Wars Edition goes on sale starting today midnight, i.e Dec 15 — which also coincides with the release of Star Wars – The Last Jedi — and will be available for booking only for a limited period, that is until Dec 22, obviously because this is a limited edition phone by OnePlus. Unlike the original Midnight Black OnePlus 5T, the new OnePlus 5T Stars Wars Edition comes in Sandstone White colour.
To make it a Star Wars special phone — the new OnePlus 5T comes with a Star Wars logo at the back — which is surrounded by a red border. The OnePlus 5T come in Midnight black colour, while the Star Wars edition stands out in that regards and the phone comes with a white coated back cover — so does the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor come in White ceramic colour. The Sandstone White colour of the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition is mainly inspired by the white salt plains of the mineral planet Crait, featured in the film.
The new OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition see no major changes from the front panel, which means it retains the black paint on the front display much-like the original OnePlus 5T. The limited OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition is basically styled in black and white and pays homage to the style of Stormtroopers — who is a fictional soldier in the Star Wars — by adding Stormtrooper wallpapers to the phone. The new OnePlus 5T limited edition comes with 10 special Star Wars wallpapers as well, giving the phone a pretty nice-dual tone design. That’s about the front and back of the new OnePlus 5T, coming to the sides of the phone — the alert slider on the left edge of the phone get a red-color paint job, basically turns into a Red Mineral Slider, as said by OnePlus.
Apart from the minimal design changes, the Star Wars Edition of the phone doesn’t differ much from the original OnePlus 5T. The smartphone much like its original version comes with a premium design, 18:9 display, sleep look and high-end hardware setup. The phone comes with a 6-inch screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by the Qualcomm’s high-end processor — Snapdragon 835 which also backs most of the top-line smartphones in market currently.
To recall, OnePlus 5T was launched in India in two variants. The lower-end variant of the phone comes coupled with 64GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM, while the high-end model comes with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition comes with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM.
The OnePlus 5T comes with dual cameras setup at the rear, wherein the primary camera includes a 16-megapixel sensor, while the secondary camera comes with a 20-megapixel sensor. Both rear cameras come with F1.7 lens and have focal length of around 27mm. The phone is backed by a 3300mAh battery.
Additionally, OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition — much like the original one — uses an all aluminium body and comes with other features like — Face Unlocking, fingerprint sensor and Dash Charging. The fingerprint sensor in the OnePlus 5T is placed on the rear cover, unlike the OnePlus 5 which has it on the front. Apart from the display, another striking feature of the OnePlus 5T is it’s much talked about Face Unlock feature — which basically uses the front camera to identify the user’s face to unlock the phone. We had thoroughly reviewed the Face Unlock feature of the OnePlus 5T and did find it very fast allowing the user to unlock the phone just by looking at the phone screen in less than a second.
